Crockett Marine Small Block
THIS IS A 434CI 9.4 TO 1 that runs on 91 octane pump gas. We built 2 of these for Furniture Row Nascar Team going in their 32 Sunsation.

tyler can you give us some more info on the motor??
cam lift, what heads and other parts. thats 1.46 hp per cube which is really good. plus its making alot of torque. really cool project, its good to see an engine builder thats working to make hp with just a motor and no blower |

I had a 650 lift cam ground on a 112 center and used the FAST fuel injection. I started with a Dart block with a .325 raised deck and a .391 raised camshaft and had Dart machine the SB2 lifter bore spacing in the block. We welded the injector bosses into the stock Nascar intake and used a 2000cfm throttlebody. Winburg made our 4.000 stroke crankshafts and we used the 6.200 long rods they ran in their car engines. I lowered the compression to 9.4 so we can run on 91 octane fuel. |
Sure sounds like a nice package.

How much weight do you save over a big block?
|
How Much Is That Doggie In the Window??
As I always say, "Nothing is impossible it just COSTS MORE!"
Nice job Tyler! Best Regards, Ray @ Raylar |
that motor kept makeing hp until 6800rpm even if you rev limit the motor at 6000rpm 722hp. you still have grate power :)
very impresive mike |
Ok Sounds great, Weight savings, Great HP. What is the down side? If you have enough torque you should be able to spin the same props as a Big block. Help educate me. In my limited knowledge I do not see a down side. Why would you not run a small block? Maybe the CG woould be off? But I would think if you build it from the start then you can set ip up for the small block. Heck I spin my big block to 6,000 anyway.
