New toy in the Toy Box...
3 Attachment(s)
This followed me home this evening. It's an all original 1985 Mini Hawk with a same vintage 25HP Mercury. It needs some oxidation remover and a few new trailer rollers, but its in great shape. I got it up to 25mph via the pitot speedo on the seatrial. We've got a creek that opens to a river 300 yards from the house, and this is perfect for such.
Get this: When I get to the guy's house, he has a picklefork jetboat and a strangely familiar Cougar tucked neatly in the garage. We shot the chit for a while and it turns out it is THIS Cougar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_R1aBoRAAY He bought it from the guy in the video & his brother who did the "production". |
Great vid! Cool little boat too. We still have our cougar cub race boat.

Nice little boat brian, I have been thinking of getting one, and painting it to match the Pantera, funny video too, gotta love the outboards.

There was one for sale locally recently for $1600, nice shape. I would have bought it in a heartbeat if I didnt already have 2 small boats in the garage.

I only have on on my port side which needs redone, and I want to make one for the starboard side like yours. What HP do you have? Do you know about roughly about how long of a run, time or mileage wise, the 5 gallons can get you? Mine came with a fin that bolts to the cavitation plate, but it was not installed when I sea-trialed it. I have some dialing in to do. I also want to install a bilge pump. Thanks! |

Thanks a bunch. I need to figure out how to install a tach. I don't want to do too much modifying, so the pitot speedo is coming out in favor of a handheld GPS.

Some pics from the Memorial Day W/E debut attached.
I lifted it off the trailer and re-designed the whole bunk setup on the trailer as well as replaced the rollers. -Made two new side combing panels from scratch. -Picked up new prop and fuel tank. -Roughly 10 passes via buffer and hand with compound, Leverage Oxidation Remover, 3M, and Leverage Polish. |
Oh yeah, I bought a new lanyard too!

Runn'n the James with that Brian?

I bought it just for the Mattaponi River which is right in front of our house. I might bring it to JOTJ; either Mark's place or Jordan Point.

FastFun2,
Is this the CMC jackplate that you have? http://cook-mfg.net/cart/index.php?m...dd6e33d1afe242 If not, which one? How much did you invest in it; and do you have any detailed pics of how it is installed? Thanks! |
Love the matching rims!
