42' Fountain

What's with this boat? Is there something wrong with it? It's been for sale quite a while now. That's one hell of a machine for $106,000 clams.

Skullkrusher 05-04-2009 09:21 AM

If you want to sell in this market, you have to separate yourself from the pack. This looks like a good deal. He'll probably get it sold.

Looks Like A Steal

tomtbone1993 05-04-2009 12:38 PM

this guys goes through boats quickly, always prices them cheap and blows them out. Someone will be getting a hell of a deal.

Back4More 05-04-2009 12:48 PM

Trailer included?

Stogie 05-04-2009 01:51 PM

Been looking at this boat for about two weeks now. Finally made a call. The boat is out of Nashville and was traded in November of 2007 and has only been in the water once since then (July, 2008). Those are the original hours on the boat. Blowers were replaced as an upgrade and not mechanical defect. It is a freshwater boat. Needs a little cosmetic TLC (i.e. windshield frame repowdercoated, a little wetsanding and buffing from where the graphics were removed), interior is descent. Does not include the trailer at the 106k price. Thinking really hard about this one. Gonna try to put my eyes on it this week if at all possible.

carcrash 05-04-2009 06:24 PM

Oh come on. What is a car dealer going to do with a Myco trailer for a 42 Fountain, once the Fountain is sold? Its a used car dealer -- pretending the trailer is separate is just jerkin' yer chain.

jeff1000man 05-04-2009 06:27 PM

Amount of time this boat has been on the market is a pretty good indicator of where the market really is, don't you think.

I don't think so, he has another one with 700's and NXT's. This is probably his 12+ 42' Fountain.

Blume knows. :ernaehrung004:

This boat looks like a great deal to me. I think it is priced right to sell in this market, rather than just be for sale.

Seems like most of the realistically priced boats and great deals are in the "big leagues".

If you are wanting something more cost effective there are still a lot of boats like this out there http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o28891-en.html
Priced at 10K less than they probably paid in 2000 and double NADA.

2002 - 42' for 106K+- =2523.81 a foot
2001 - 28' for 62K+- = 2214.29

Might not be that far off. :evilb:

I'd have to go for the fountain though.

Haha, nice math. I think most of us would factor in "power" somewhere though.

2 small blocks.....or 2 575's.......?:ernaehrung004:

I was just looking for a re buttal. Donzi is more like a 30K boat is you ask me, but I don't think that fountain is going to bring over 100K without the trailer.

Single With Twins 05-04-2009 09:12 PM

good price but from experience it is hard to get out of the boat.......my 1999 with two year old interior, one-year old engines (600 efi, closed cooled) is listed for 102,500 and room to move is getting no action.
Mine includes the trailer..........

Jay

Hard to get out of any boat. Ever.

Two things that science has yet to figure out are Cold Fusion and how to make Bravo drives last on 42 foot boats with 700+ hp blower motors.

I was thinking the same thing about the Drives!!! I was told that you can't make it thru. a Poker Run on this setup w/o blowing one.....

SUPERCATBOATS 05-05-2009 07:28 AM

There is a 99 38' Fountain/ 65 original hrs. Trailer included. 79,900.00 at www.lakeozarkboatrealty.com

sellsman11 05-05-2009 09:37 AM

I had a chance to look at the 42 Fountain that you are discussing. I dont have a dog in the fight but I can assure all of you that the boat is worth $106k and more. It has been stored inside its entire life and it shows.

The first person to stand in front of it will buy it.;)

29KILROY 05-05-2009 10:11 AM

I know, I would love too.......

BURNSMAZZ 05-05-2009 10:13 AM

I'm sure if you used your head and didn't run the dog**** out of it all the time, you could make those drives last a while.I'm curious as to how much power the motors are really making. Hey Reggie must know something, otherwise I don't think he would put those drives on it. About 95% of my boating is 35-50 mph I don't lean on my stuff real hard I wish I had the chedder and was in the market.I think that would be a nice boat. The 42 Fountains are beauties.

EWB 05-05-2009 10:30 AM

I know the boat. if you what to know anything specific feel free to call me.

I think that would seal the deal, Hawaian Tropic sunblock! I'm assuming it will come with a "professional applicator" for a week or two, right?:evilb:

FOXMXPSYCHO 05-05-2009 11:06 PM

so I have this 2006 30ft eagle that was 150k when I got it in may of 07' and I would actually trade mine in for that 42ft fountain but would it be possible to negotiate something like this or would I have to sell mine first??

Why are you asking a forum instead of the boat's owner?

$hit I dont know man ive never tried trading a boat in for another one I was more or less looking for an opinion.

Skullkrusher 05-07-2009 07:33 AM

I'm thinking he won't, but the only way to find out is to ask him.

sellsman11 05-20-2009 05:16 PM

This boat was here for a test run today. The boat ran STRONG. Needed a solenoid for a trim pump. Everything else worked perfectly.

GOTTA be worth the money.
