Default New Fuel Tank: How much?

Any rough estimates on how involved and how expensive it would be to take a 27' boat with a fiberglass fuel tank, open up the floor, clean it out, and place a new aluminum tank might be?

Thanks.

Not sure about the labor part, but I just had a 260gal aluminum tank built for $3200.

I would venture a guess to say that your tank is not that large. It definitely pays to shop around. I had estimates from $3200 to $6500+ for the same tank.

Fabricate 1 aluminum 110 gal tank..... $1100

New floor exactly like original. All new hoses & fittings. $4,000.

I don't think I got a deal but it is perfect like new.

. It was a very big & messy job on a 31 Sutphen, had to chop the floor out

PM Masher44 on here. He had this done in his Activator last summer.

Cut floor out, made custom tank and put it all back together again. I can't remember what he said it cost him.

Itr will probably depend a lot on what needs to be done to the floor. On my Pantera, the center section of the floor that covered the tank was a separate piece that could be easily removed and then screwed and caulked back in. If you've got to cut and reglass, its gonna get more expensive.

Randy, I guess you checked the fittings on the tank?

Is the floor finished with gelcoat or just fiberglass then painted?

The tank for my 27 was $900 3/16" alum 4 baffles . Had it made on here on LI .Any questions give me a shout .
