Default Can you recommend a good cable/chain "lift", for my garage?

I'm looking for one that many engine guys use to pull/work on motors in their shop?

I'd like to mount one in the ceiling to suspend things in the air, as well as lift my Jeep top on & off by backing under it. It doesn't need to have MASSIVE weight capability, but tough enough to lift a trailer up (with no boat on it) at the most.

Thanks!

I have used the one from Harbor Freight to do Big blocks in Boats, some of their stuff is cheap, but the hoists seem to be OK.

Wink Be Carefull!

Grainger in most locales stocks a nice selection of chain hoists.
However be careful that you inspect your lifting rafters or beams and their attachment points and make sure they and their supports are rated for the kind of weight you are going to be lifting, then double that weight for a safety and tugging factor and be careful!
It would be a disaster to pull your garage roof down on your toy and those individuals underneath working on the project!!
No need for FILM @ 11:00!

Best Regards,

I'd have to agree on the Harbor Freight. Also, any Atwoods, Orchands or farm supply store has them as well.

Thanks man, that's actually much less as far as cost than I expected.

Thanks to the rest of you guys as well, and sorry for the late reply.
