Garmin or North Star?

Whats your thoughts for a performance boat?

Good Question! I would also like to see what the others have to say.

I have had both. I think Garmins are easier to use.

Garmin better screen, more features, easier to use.
Northstar still a great unit, lots of aftermarket faceplates available

If you really want the good stuff, no questions, and no contest go with Furuno.

The MPH on the northstar says 8 mph slower then the garmin and Gaffrig !!!

? shouldnt be DD...

I believe they are all WAAS augmented GPS units they should be within a 10nth or so.

Does Gaffrig make a GPS? Or just speedometers that are GPS enabled?

They should all read within a MPH or two of one another in almost all circumstances unless a "correction factor" is enabled at the setup screen of either.

Maybe one was set to knots and the other MPH?
