Default prop help

It gets asked alot, but I need help here. I have been trying a number of props and have found the mirage plus 23p to spot on for my boat. 454(330hp) bravo 1:5. 58mph 4650rpm. my mid range speed went up 9mph over the 19p mirage I had on the boat. So what do you guys think a bravo 1 22p would be like. I don't have one to try and need to buy it to try it. So should I?

Can't really give good prop advice without knowing what boat you have.

Griff, my bad. I have a 1988 mirage intruder 217 (22ft) 454 330) bravo 1:50

Current numbers are 58mph@4650rpm with a 23p mirage plus (solid hub if that matters)

What will a bravo one 22p do for me?

general rule of thumb when going from 3 blade to a 4 blade and dropping down 1 pitch = 1-2 mph loss in top speed, and 2-3 mph gain in mid-range, and better all around handling.

that being said, every boat is different. try one and see what happens.

The 4 blade will increase holeshot and cruise speed and you will loose 2-4mph on the top end. I'm guessing your propshaft is pretty deep and you probably don't need a 4 blade.
