What's the best weather app?? Johnny what is the speed box?

robyw1 05-28-2009 02:08 PM

I like radarscope the best, it is just radar and not weather. It kept me out of the storms on Lake Travis last Saturday.

Here's Johnny 05-28-2009 02:58 PM

Speedbox is basicly a gps speedo...does digital and analog. I bought a real nice motorcycle mount off eBay and it works dead even with mygps speedo.

whats the best radar app?? Trying to use safari to pull up the closest radar on the local news station is a total hassle. We just need it to see where the rain is this time of year.

Weather channel has their own app that works well.

From the reviews I read, none of the radar apps are that good. I just added a bookmark in Safari to take me straight to my local radar on Accuweather. Works great.

I like radarscope the best. It has always been very accurate on the road and the water.

I think you at least need the subscription to listen online.....if i am not mistaken it is very cheap.....and the best part is you don't need to be outside......

Somebody needs to come up with a prop slip calculator app...

PhantomChaos 04-22-2010 11:05 PM

What about "decibel" to test exhaust noise?

Sound level. Free too!

Wildman_grafix 04-23-2010 07:38 AM

I wouldn't think the I phones mic can handle much level.

You can get cheap hand held spl meters at radio shack. Like the one that you use to set up your home theater levels, they can do both "A" and "C" weighting.

Audiofn 04-23-2010 07:46 AM

Nort I thought you still had a brick phone? :D

Audiofn 04-23-2010 07:47 AM

Or was it bag I forget?

FuelinAround 04-23-2010 09:00 AM

I use Navitronics US WEST, and EAST LAKES. Cant remember what they cost but they even work on the Ohio to show bouys. As far as weather goes I LOVE the Weather Channel. You can also make a link from Safari on your home page to www.crh.noaa.gov to view your local hydrographs :)

There's also a Miss Geico app.

Don't have a link, but I do have a screencap.
You can probably figure out why. :drink:

Bill, good stuff. But like wildman grafix said, does the mic on the phone handle it?
