Any Info On Ocean City?
Has anyone heard any info on the Ocean City Race? When, Who, ect.
thanks, Eddie Simmons Superboatusa.com F1-68 |
Eddie, Last I heard the race is scheduled for for May 31st-June 2nd. Dry and wet pits still at Sunset Marina.
HotDuck should have some more info on it. Eric |
fastedy,
We're still trying to finalize(rationalize) our decision...the same concerns I spoke to you about at the AC boat show. JW |
Thank's John,
Are we looking at the same dates? Eddie |
Yes, same dates. We have also secured the inlet parking lot this year for additional dry pits and hot boats, exotic cars and trick truck show.
|
is this a SBI or APBA race ?????
|
Mike..I think it's APBA Divisional...great locale for a race!
|
Hey guys! I am not sure if we can find a class to run the new boat in for the race here this year, but we will be around either way. For race info, contact either John Wilmoth (JWilmoth on this board I believe) or the folks at Offshore Performance (410-827-0200). While you are in Ocean City please stop by and check out some of our local sponsors.....
Commander Hotel - Directly in the middle of the boardwalk at 14th street...great location to stay and watch the races. www.commanderhotel.com Atlantic Hotel - on the boardwalk at Somerset Street near the rides. Caruso's Pizza - On the boardwalk near the rides. Lynch Mob (F2-3) |
Ocean City MD is a great race site......not only for offshore racing, but they have some fun go kart tracks down there!Hopefully there will be a national race there in the future.
|
Almost forgot, GOOD LUCK to you and Bill in the new Lynch Mob this year! That boat qualifies for Super Vee Light Twin, right?
|
Thanks! It may qualify for SV Lite twin. We are gonna see what the weight is when the boat is completed. It is being built for SBI so it may not meet the weight requirements for APBA. If need be, we can carry weight. We would also need to have our engines CRE'd for APBA. No problem, but it has not been done. We'll see what the time frame and the budget allow.
I have not read the rule book for the P classes, but I have been told that there is a P class that will allow canopies. We will certainly look into it because we would love to run in our home town again this year. |
Damn! Now isn't that a busy weekend? Ocean City Race, Pt Pleasant Race,& The Atlantic City Poker Run. Is there anything else that could be happening that weekend we should know about...:D :D :D
|

|
Mike Merola,
Shouldn't the Battle be between MJH and Smyth1!!!!!! Don't get in the middle of it Trust me I know this. Whats done is done and so forth. Sit back relax and I will buy you a beer!!!!! |
:( Sorry MXZ, I am already committed to NJPPC and will not be able to make the cook out...:( ;) :D :D :D
|
I can't believe this is the same weekend as our race in Brick/Point Pleasant. Is this race confirmed? If not, come on up to NJ.
|
Do I dare ask???
|
Sharkey
It is actually a no big deal situation that Mike M has some need to keep exploiting. It would be in a MATURE nature for him to just drop the whole thing rather than trying to escalate it. Mike has nothing to gain off of this as it is. That is why I can not understand why he keeps trying to escalate the situation. I would love to tell you but rather not exploit my friend MJH. Dennis P Tracey |
Let's make this a real RACE. OC MD to Brick NJ . 1 Lap I'm in.
PS... I'm very sure there will be no takers... Whimps :p :p |
Cool to participate, would really suck to officiate:D Screw it go both ways-let's see who the real racers are:eek:
|
Sounds great...If you time it right, you'll be able to party with us at Trumps!:D :D :D DPT, I won't ask...;) ;)
|
That would be great, how far would that be? I would love to have one race a year from PT A to PT B like the old days

Hey Eddie,
Our Seaside race will start in Point Pleasant, then run 10 miles down the beach to Seaside Hieghts. Once in Seaside you will enter the race course and run several laps. The finish will be in Seaside as well. This will be a little different than the norm. |
