SKATER NATION ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO MERCY 06-10-2009 02:59 PM

We all know the answer to that question ...

BUT just so you know, I am coming to LSU/FL this year equipped with my camera for the SOLE PURPOSE of catching you in the most embarrassing picture I can get. :drink:

My money is on Pure Platinum

IMO - The only chance Gino has is if it is super rough and long distance. Even then I still think PP can do it.

Besides the video system on PP is super cool that that should count for something.

Just curious... why do you think rough water is going to give Gino an advantage?

It seems like the longer heaver MTI would have an advantage in rough water, maybe not but it would make sense.

I still think PP would win I was just saying.

NO MERCY 06-10-2009 03:44 PM

I figured that was why ...

In actuality the MTI has a 4 ft bussel on the back making the actual running surface of the boat somewhere around 39 ft. The 388 skater has a 38 ft running surface and is around 40 ft overall to the back of the tunnel if im not mistaken.

Not busting your chops, just clarifying that these are similar sized boats.

ckin62 06-10-2009 04:01 PM

To me that MTI looks much bigger than PP. I guess it is just a bulkier design.

Interesting, didn't know that!!

I thought they were much different size. Do you know the weight difference?

90+ hours on the Chief Engines in Pure Platinum...

Tommy's stuff is damn near bulletproof.

Throwing blower belts is hardly the "engines not staying together"

Dam n, how many hours on the boat? Thats a lot for such a new boat.

You know what I mean about staying together. Lets call it mechanical issues. Issues that limit the boat to a short blast.

Jacksonville 2010! The mother of all rematches.

As a side note, I heard Gold Digger was seen headed into an early sunset on her way out of Jax today via I-10. Maybe an early arrival in Destin??? Where she stops nobody knows.

I'm curious as to why Bill doesn't run GD more? I think I saw somewhere, that it was for sale....... but I would think that boat would be a better boat in BIG water offshore? Plus it has a canopy, better safety factor.

look at the video and look at Dustins cat..basically the same thing..Great boat..but different design..tunnel widths..weight..and I presume doesnt have the same overall pull getting up to speed...
