Stainless VS Monel staples ??? Advice

I need some staples for a T50 arrow gun.I haveing to redo some new interior:mad: Arrow tech dept. is clueless:(.They say use the monel that its "95 nickle" , another person there says it galvanized steel, the box says rust proof.

The stainless they claim is 304, but nobody knows what else is in it,the other person said it has tin in it,rust resistant. But they say that it will rust.Does anybody know?

1/4 5/16

any suggestions?

I found some monels that said rustproof 66% nickel and 33% copper on the box.The other says stainless steel, I remember some saying part tin.Is Monel just a word made up from Arrow?

Will nickel rust ? I know the copper will turn colors.

Anybody?

Nickel will not rust! I think your fine with either staple, but the nickel, copper combo seems better, IMO.

Check out the attached link. It is a fairly basic description of monel. I am not a metalurgist, but I bet it would work just fine for what you are going to use them for. I think the stainless steel ones would also be ok. I do not know off the top of my head which one would best in salt conditions, but it might be the monel.

Rob......why are you worried about rust? Do you ever put the boat in the water? :D :D

Jamestown Distributing, look it up on the web. They sell stainless T-50 staples. The only way to go......

Nort it doesn't look good this summer for me,its been at the paint shop since Dec 15th.They got me by the balls and there not motivated.Thieve wore me down. One thing is it will have a better paint job than my showcars:drink:Its down to painting the deck now. Then I have to put it back together:ernaehrung004:

Another place to get upholstery supplies is www.rochfordsupply.com, however I don't know that the stainless staples they offer fit in a T50 style stapler.
