Chris Craft Stinger or 245ltd

Hi all. I am brand new to OSO. Wife and I are looking to sell the boat we have (1999 Chris Craft 210 bow rider) for something larger. I've been reading a ton of older threads regarding the Chris Craft Stingers and 245ltds. Not seeing a lot of happy boaters with the Stingers from later 80s. Seems to be little following on the 245ltds. Anybody out there have general commentary on either boat? Please advise.

I had a 88 245 Limited, I loved the boat but needed bigger and wanted 2 BBC....

Mine was a small block one... do yourself a favor buy a BB one, small blocks run about 43 stock with the 260, I did aluminum heads with roller shortblock and got a best of 53 gps, thats all she had.. usually with a big block they go 60-63 on average, great boat and a nice looking one, I like it better then stingers in the looks department.. but if you want twin engine go with the stinger...

Here are a few pics of mine...

Thanks for the feedback. I like the looks of the 245s as well. From all that I've read about the stingers and 245s, it seems that the 245 have much fewer design issues and a better history of quality. Mind you I am a Chris Craft owner and love them inside and out.

I'll keep my eye open for a 245. Big block will be in within a year of purchase.

They have big blocks... just get one of them instead of SB... saves you the hassle, wish I did!

I had a stinger and loved that boat. HUGE cabin for the family, 60 - 63 mph boat with stock 2 x 350 / 260 hp.

Would go with this option again!
