Ok, I give up. You should buy the fountain and regret doing it just like my brother in-law did. He owned both. I also owned a 25' baja outlaw. I don't think i would own either again. Good luck with it.

I took a Fountain 29 from Miami to Lake Champlain in Vermont on the water one spring, had big blocks twin.

How was that trip?

My brother has one with a 525. Terrible coming out of the hole, but performs pretty well once on plane. I have seen one with twins and the back sits very low in the water. it's really about a 26' boat.

I had a 1998 29 with a mildly modded 525SC. The boat was a dog getting out of the hole - we used to call it the "Bog-O-Matic". Put an Imco -2 shortie on it and replaced the standard K-planes with longer ones and it was a little better.

I have a 2000 29 Fever with a single 500 EFI that I like alot. Yes it takes a little time to get on plane with a single, but once up on plane I really like the way it rides. I do most of my boating at Havasu and runs in the ocean to Catalina Island which is ~30 miles offshore depending on where you depart from. I'll sell my boat but it's not being advertised anywhere right now but in this economy I'll sell the shirt off my back!

I owned a 2000 Fountain 29 Fever with a single HP500. Wonderful boat, built very solid. Twins in this boat gets a little tail heavy when the boat comes out of the water so adjust trim and tabs while keeping that in mind.

As always have a full survey done to make sure there is no rot.

Please don't take this the wrong way but which boat would you recommend then? I'm new to offshore boating (we always had smaller sea rays between 18-22) and have starting to do some research on performance boats in the 27-32 foot range.
