Cafe' Racer's - Need pics of your boat on the trailer

1 Attachment(s)
I just need the pic of the winch and v-pad area. The front of my trailer is just not right at all and need some ideas. I have this picture of mine. Any help would be appreciated. I think the Cafe's all suffer from having the bow eye high on the boat.

Here is an unknown one. Any other idea's? Sean , you stay out of this. You've got a 5th wheel! Perfect answer to the high winch problem.

Jim,
I've got quite a bit of assorted steel around if you want to make a new winch mount, shouldn't take more than a couple hours to fabricate and weld up, then you could paint it or have it galvanized.
Let me know.

Right on, thanks Caleb.

Jim,

I may be seeing things, but looking at the picture you posted, it looks to me like the winch tower on your trailer is adjustable(up and down). If this is the case, just loosen up that bolt in the front and the tower should go up...

You sure you don't wanna see pics of my trailer;)

Sean, Yes it is adjustable but is just too flimsy when extended. I just wanted some other ideas. If you have a picture of that area of your trailer, go ahead and post it. Maybe some of the others might help too. I know there are more Cafe's out there.

I see your point...it looks as if some custom work is in order. But...I think if you also through-bolted the winch tower to the trailer(to give those U-Bolts some added help) and perhaps welded the extension after you moved it up, it may help.

I don't think anything is really gonna help yor stability issue 100% unless you fabricate something like that Cafe at TNT(red&white).

What kind of trailer is it anyway...maybe the mfr will have some suggestions...

I figured I was going to have to do some fabricating. Just thought I'd see what the other Cafe's had since they all have a fairly high bow eye. That would give me a better idea what to build. The trailer is a Vangard, I think. Where are all the guy's with Cafe' Racers?

NW_Jim 03-29-2002 11:23 AM

I know there are more Cafe Racers out there. Come on guys
