What on-board camera do you use?
I'm looking at getting an on-board camera for my boat to play with and was wondering what the majority of people are doing. I've seen a clip from the go-pro camera which seemed pretty good quality. I've also seen one at sports chalet that looks more like a helmet camera. Lot's of options, what do you have?

I use a GoPro. Works very nice and they are priced very reasonable. It also has a helmet option that I do not recomend. At high speed it is too jerky with a helmet.

How fast were you running there, 80?

I think another nice camera is the www.vio-pov.com but it's in the $6-700 price range and then I found this camera at Sport Chalet for like $200.

I have the POV.1 - works great, very clear picture, waterproof and shock proof. When I was shopping, I wanted something I can take in my car as well.
If you don't mind a hard wired system, this system allows you to feed two cameras to a split screen or PIP, which is really slick. With a single cam, I am always trying to figure out if I want to face it towards the bow or stern. http://www.datatoys.com/products/Spe...duct_info.html I believe they can handle up to 4 cameras if you add the optional quad video processor. |
