Default Blown 3 IMCO Drives, Hows the BMAX

I have a 1998 29' Fountain Single 540 blown "Big Ponies". I have a knack of blowing up drives, 3 IMCO Extreme's last season. "Per usual I'M Clueless" . I run mostly on a river with waves 1' or less and the boat is in the water, well at least most of the time. I have a Plumed in water dump from the raw water pump shower and a external shower, my drive temp gauge never in the red, and run full synthetic oil. What do you think about the B'Max Drive???????

First off , what is your definition of "big ponies" and do you use that left arm to throttle ?
I've seen over 700hp in front of a stock Bravo and that lived thru a few Poker runs.
My own stock Bravo lived for 40hrs and 2 poker runs behind 670hp.

I'm sure your blown 540 makes a ton of torque but those Imco Extremes are supposed to handle quite a
bit.

Is that the new IMCO Extreme SC that you blew up?

26scarab,

I use my Left arm to throttle, and I running a little over 900HP and torque is in the same ball park.

Well that explains it

That is a lot of torque to put thru a any kind of Bravo. It's time for a speedmaster or something.

Just curious , how fast has the boat run ?

Mach1Shorty ,

The newest one I have now is the IMCO Extreme SC with straight cut gears, so far I only have 5 hours on it. If my luck stays consitant, I've only got 15 hours left before this one gernades too!

From 26scarab "Just curious , how fast has the boat run ?"

Never fast enough for me, however I've made more than a few wet their shorts.

My dream boat is a "Skater".

Well, keep us posted on the Extreme SC. They say it's stronger, but you are definitely pushin' the max! It's on my wish list, want to know how they are holding up. There is no way I can afford to go through 3 drives in one season!

B-Max makes a great drive. HTM used one to drag race and put over1200hp through it. I have a friend who has had one for 1 season and put 1100 - 1200hp through it with no failures.
