sponsoring raceboats....so easy a caveman could do it....

and just think, this is the money you could save having your raceboat sponsored by Gieco

I could care less where they advertise but......For what its worth, I called gieco to get a quote for my boat. They gave me a number to Ski Safe insurance and told me that was who they contracted out to. Apparently Gieco doesnt do boat insurance themselves. FYI, Ski Safe told me my 22ft boat with a 330 horse BBC had too much horsepower and they would not insure me...... I was rather amused.

Jay..I dont know you or how old you are... but 1st your in florida, 2nd your boat is 18 years old, 3rd undoubtedly modified since it left the factory and 3rd probably ha decent sized motors.. with hurricanes , boat thefts and wipeouts on the mind of insurance companies..it's amazing that insurance is available from anyone at any price....

Gieco's advertising/marketing stratagie appearntly is working the way they want it to, or they would not be continuing it.

Last time I called to get a price quote on my apache they flat out told me they dont insure performance boats over 25 feet, nothing over 365 HP and single engine.
So why in gods name do they have their names plastered all over what, 15 boats in the Hagin circus of boats, trucks, motorcycles and other stuff?

Sort of makes no sense to me.
Dont get me wrong, Im friends with Scotty and have met John 30 times at different events and is the nicest guy around and would give you the shirt off his back in a second but I just dont get the insurance company angle in all of this.
I love what he does for the sport but the sponsor needs to rethink what they are portraying out there with boats that can hit about 200 MPH but you cant get your boat insured from them if you have a single 500 HP 27 foot ride?
Come on, whats the sense in that?

...you can't really be serious?

I'm glad to see both Gieco & Mr. Haggan pour the money they do into the sport we all love, However if they handle their boat claims anything like the way they handle their auto claims from the view I get then be Thankfull they won't insure us !!
:lolhit:

Well it is sort of amusing because seems no one knows anything about my boat at all, who bought it new how it was setup new from the factory, what its name was, nothing. I am 36, have roughly 1000 Hp engines, (although until I dyno them that's unverified)
The one panel on the dash says "Wind Arrow" so I am guessing that's its origional name but again no one seems to know anything about my boat at all qand it NEVER comes up in any apache discussions ever. Like the bastard child of apache powerboats.
I wish I knew more about it but since no one knows anything about it ill never know
J
