Help Officer Troutly

No disrespect intended but since your an officer of the law which makes you a defacto Donut afficianado, I was wondering if you like Krispy Kreme over Dunkin Donuts?

Krispy Kreme is just begining to be available in NJ and gets my highest Donut ranking of 4 holes.

Anyone else prefer one over the other? Or is something even better?

Do they use a gun to put the holes in the donuts? If so what caliber?

puder 03-29-2002 11:44 AM

a used to think krispy kremes were better than DD but a buddy of mine was like "i bet you can't eat a dozen" well he lost that bet and i felt sick for hours...

ever since i am kidn of burned out one the krispy kremes. They still make a hell of a good donut.

Sydwayz 03-29-2002 11:45 AM

I heard he is already heading East on the PA Turnpike in the cruiser, running Code 1, on his way over to stomp you for that one Ron!! :D

Tough call on the Donuts, but DD edges out KK in my book.

Sydwayz 03-29-2002 11:52 AM

Puder, now who really lost that bet?

Kinda like the old bet my Grandad told me about...
Bet your buddy $5 bucks he cannot pee over the top of his head leaning backwards.
Of course he can do it, but as his stream fizzles, he will piss all over his face and clothes. It's worth the $5 bucks just to watch.

puder 03-29-2002 11:55 AM

rofl!!!!
not quiet that bad.

At least i can say i ate a dozen donuts!!!
The true culmination of my life's work.......

Sydwayz 03-29-2002 12:04 PM

Reminds me...
Back when I was in the Air Force, and bored on a midnight shift in the Pentagon, we bet a guy he could not eat a 2 pound bag of plain M&Ms in 1 hour. This was a 6'4" guy, that was game for anything. He took the bet. An hour passed and he had not swallowed the last of them (a whole mouthful, not a couple); although he had them all in his mouth. We called it a draw. Nobody paid up, but to this day (9 years later), he still cannot eat M&Ms. I would have to say that was a bet that keeps on paying for a long, long time. It really used to piss him off if you left a small bag in his cubicle, or locker.

I look back and I remember saying I should buy krispy creme stock and looking into it, and for some reason not doing it, here they are still growing, like so many other should have bought stocks... How has their stock been doing. I'm afraid to go look, and worsen the bruises of all the times I have to kick myself for not buying a stock! It's almost lunch time, and there's a crispy creme place real close...Hmmmmm....

SHARKEY-IMAGES 03-29-2002 12:39 PM

"A donut without a hole is a danish..." Chevy Chase, Caddy Shack I think? Nunna nunna nunna nahhhh... Nunna nunna nunna nahhhh....:D :D :D

Ron P 03-29-2002 12:40 PM

Notice that Troutly had a KK box handy to take that photo.

I guess his vote is for KK over DD.

SHARKEY-IMAGES 03-29-2002 12:41 PM

What's with the lipstick on the cheek?:D :D :D My preferrence would be "Double D's" ;)

NASTY HABIT 03-29-2002 01:07 PM

one kk here does abotu 10k a day.... i think the stock is around 46 - 48 they are pretty tasty.. but as Puder found otu eaat too many and...............try eating a big bowl of skittles....dd has more selection though...

Strike 03-29-2002 01:10 PM

The original recipe for Krispys was developed here in Buffalo, the sold to them some years ago. We have had a Krispy here for over a year and they always have a line of cars waiting. I think they are too damn oily. Give me a Tim Horton any day!

Cord 03-29-2002 01:20 PM

Mmmmmmmmm. Krriiiisssssteeeee Kreeeeeeeemmmmmmmmme. :D

hp500efi 03-29-2002 02:09 PM

You guys are too much for a Friday :D

That is a great picture Troutly ;) LOL

The only donuts I liked were the ones I did back in my high school days with my car ;)

Waterfoul 03-29-2002 02:13 PM

hp500, you do those donuts with the partol car too?? Thru the median and stuff?? :D

I like Krispy Kreme's myself. Awsome donut!!!!!

SHARKEY-IMAGES 03-29-2002 02:14 PM

The coffee mug says "Joe". Stand for Joe Friday???:D :D :D

MissAmy 03-29-2002 02:51 PM

Don't shoot me for this....but I do not like Krispy Kreme. Is there something wrong with me?? I don't like the glaze for some reason. It's almost too sweet or something. There is a place here called Lamar's and I think they have the best donuts, especially their chocolate long johns.

Oh, and I also like the kind that you make at home using the pillsbury biscuit dough. Fry em up and then roll em in sugar! Their yummy and the kids love making them. :)

Breathe Later 03-29-2002 02:59 PM

Try the "Hunter's Do-nut" at Wall Drug in Wall SD.

Evil Twin 03-29-2002 04:05 PM

I love those damn things. At least once a week my wife takes a 16 mile pilgramage to pick up those tastey treats. When the boys are in the garage after midnight working on the boat, we sneak out to go to White Castles (Sliders, Gut bombs) and right across the street is Krispy Kream's. Now that's Liven!!!....But the better halves always know where we have been by the distintive oder present when we go too sleep!:D

Laveyman 03-29-2002 04:19 PM

I'm with Miss Amy on this one. Those little suckers are way too sweet for a donut. And they're soo dang small ya gotta eat a dozen of em to get full. Give me a good ol' fashion glazed donut or apple fritter from the local mom & pop (or should I say Mr. & Mrs. ChangChaoChin) any day over a KK.

We have a KK directly across the street from my station here, and very few of us ever go there. Bet they thought they had a goldmine when they put that sucker across the street from the local police station!!!

Evil Twin 03-29-2002 04:33 PM

What were they thinking when they put the Krispy Kream across the street from a cop shop........ White Castles, Krispy Kreams are devoured by the after the bar closes crowd.

Ted G 03-29-2002 07:08 PM

Damn, Strike likes some guy named Tim Horton, and Miss Amy likes "Long John" This has gone way beyond doughnuts!!!:D

KK rules.

Niuhi 03-29-2002 09:05 PM

We finally got one of those out here in the NW and to this day after trying one I can't understand what the big deal is with them  . Taste like D&D to me.

I like Miss Amys idea about the pillsbury biscuit dough though. Gonna have to go and hit the fridge here in a few minutes to try them puppies out. Wonder if they work with the cresent dough

I prefer KK over DD,but my favorite is Tim Hortons!

Ron P 03-30-2002 07:13 PM

Jen, it's things like this that I loose sleep over.

Dinner was fun. Thanks for a good time.

NICKSLICK 03-30-2002 09:23 PM
