What is taking so long you may ask?
If you can notice in the pics, there are several brackets and plates dressed all over this engine. Each piece was hand crafted by the owner. He paid special attention with the drain lines for the block, and oil. You may notice the hose coming off the block and ran to bulkhead fitting on the engine mounts. This is to make his maintenance alot easier. With the way this engine is going to fit inside the boat, he will not be able to reach any of this while it is in the boat. Therefore everything is in reach at the front of the engine. :drink: |

You just can't give this owner any time. Before you know it, he'll be modifying the engine next......:D :D He added an additional 50 hp with some different tricks. He now has a total of 650 hp going into the feather weight boat... |
Re: New Hull Design
Tim thats the Idea instead of 2 or worse yet 3 big HP temperamental engines in a Heavy Boat why not make the Boat more efficient..To Begin with. I wish them Good Luck and safe testing.

Sharkey:
Depending on the outcome of this trial, I wonder if the builder would be interested in constructing another one with a more mild powerplant (496). I love the look of this boat. Good luck to them. |
Re: New Hull Design

Re: New Hull Design
I got some better pics the other day.
Click here to view pics. I haven't seen the owner in awhile, but from what I hear, the first time out the boat was running in the high 80's. Still needs some dialing in... I'm sure there is more there. The boat planes instantly and runs effortlessly across the top of the water. It must be that cushion of air it is riding on... ;) |
