I remember the big Apache thread. I believe it was "History of Apache" or something.
It took several days to run it's course. The information on the thread was priceless. As with any Apache thread things took a turn for the worse. It wasn't the end of the world, but it did get a little ugly.
The original thread starter decided he was done and elected to delete the thread. The complaints were endless. After a few days OSO elected to back the board up about 3-4 days and put the thread back up. This completely erased 3-4 days worth of posts. People went nuts. It was a no win situation.
I remember who started the thread and asked MANY times why they did it. Never did get an answer. To this day they have never owned up as to why they did it.

Before the current format of this board, back in 1998 or 1999??, the board was a zoo! Everybody bashing and threatening and arguing over boat brands, engine builders, etc. lots of drama. People threatening to kick each other azz on and on. Well this guy posts a thread on how he could get his boat to go over 80 mph (current speed 65 mph) and since the boat was a brand well known for being slow, one of the aholes on the board posted:
"Drop it out of an airplane."
And the s*** was on. Never forget that smart alek remark.

Jay you have made history since then, you are probably the best loved-best hated, but most good natured guy on the board I could be wrong but I have a hunch because of that hurricane and your involvement in OSO your life took a turn in a different direction that has turned out to be a pretty fun ride for you
