did he have 2 or 3 boats, if 2 it was repainted? and did you have a boat that you did turbines in? or was my way the boat you re rigged or had them rebuilt in, in another thread in the skater section?

Yes I rerigged it with Turbines.
The hull has seen piston engines twice aswell as a second round of Turbines.
Thread is Turbine 101.
Once you go Turbines you cant go back!

When my kids where little and we would run in to JetSet leaving the lagoon my girls, in tru Pokiman tradition would yell "Charmander, Charmander" the resembulance is obvious.

Back in July '89, I was allowed to participate in a test ride on the Gentry Eagle when they were docked for a few days in Greenwich, CT just before they made their cross Atlantic speed record attempt. We went out on LI Sound and cruised at 60-70 mph on Lycoming T40 turbine power (4500hp) connected to an Arneson Surface Drive. What an incredible sound and feeling on such a large speedboat. 110' of aluminum bliss. The cockpit looked like the bridge of the USS Enterprise!

On July 25, 1989, Gentry Eagle left Ambrose lighthouse in New York Harbor and blazed across the Atlantic to Bishop Rock on England's Isles of Scilly with Tom Gentry at the helm. She crossed the Atlantic in just 62 hours and 7 minutes, at an average 73 mph.
