As long as they're having fun who cares. I remember when riding in the back of dad's pickup was common place. Now it horrifies all the moral watch dogs. Free country. Road burn can be a choice too....:grinser010:

They should not be there,but that looks alot more controled than what I see on our river on a Sunday. Kids sitting on the bow of Dads boat going 35mph, just stupid.

Yeah I hear you there... There is some crazy people on St. Clair... I offered to take a few guys from work out on the boat this past weekend, and a few beers later, 1 of them was standing up on the rear bench in 2 footers doing about 50. I put him in his place pretty quick, I am not going to be responsible for the injury to others, especially on my boat...

Controlled or not, if its not sanctioned like a parade or something, I don't think its real cool. In the cockpit would be one thing, but sitting where they are, thats a bit more dangerous.

In Jersey it's legal in a travel trailer. Don't know about in a boat thats open.

From what I can tell riding in the back of a towed boat ANYWHERE seems to be illegal in Kalifornia. Just 2 weeks ago big signs at Lake Nacimiento about riding in a boat while being towed, and in the bed of a pickup.

They even had signs and a marker on the ramp- "passengers in towed boats not allowed past here" Saw plenty of tickets issued over this as well.

I get not hanging out underdeck while going down the freeway- but from the ramp t the campsite/parking lot at 10MPH come on....

Seems a little over top to me to be honest.

This wasn't a parade. They had just hauled the boat out at the launch ramp. It is two miles from the launch ramp to the "grass marina" area through city streets with street signals, bridge, ect.
