Jass your correct. In a application like yours now doubt the NXT's are the way to go. But in a modest boat with modest up grades save the money and stay with Bravo's.
Before Mercury went to multiple stages of Bravo's I had a 97 Thunder with Twin 800's and stock Bravo's on Boxes with 3 trouble free season.

I can tell you from experience a couple summers ago when I was testing the drive in one of Mercurys test boats. Mercury had a 36 BAJA w/ a single 700 and an NXT drive. Part of the routine was to try to break it. In trying to break it we would hole shot it from a dead stop. We tested it for months under those kind of conditions - It Never Broke....

Not to argue but,after building a few boats,I would rather sell what I had and buy something with the right hardware.That conversion is gonna be costly no matter what.I would think konrads would be cheaper?

The transom cutout is the same as it is for a #6 Speedmaster for those asking about the bolt pattern.

Here's my take on it..Boating is to be fun..thats why we buy these machines..when going out if it becomes a hassle once or twice a year with a break down, or always having it in the back of your mind especially on a PR..thats when it becomes un-fun..
