Default Intercoastal ?

Is it clear enough to run from Lauderdale to Norfolk VA. without going outside? The boats draft is about 4.5 feet.

I'd check with GLH if you don't get the responses you're looking for. He's done it a few times from Florida to Vermont in his Azumut.

Buddy just got a 60 something foot house boat with twin 454's says it go's 18 mph max with a 15 mph cruise. It has the big bow for river running not just a barge, but I still wouldn't want to go outside for very long. We were thinking 10-14 days would do it.

watch out for South Carolina--there dredging is pathetic at best and the channel is SMALL. Lots of busted drives and props come out of SC. Not sure how I know that though........

Around Myrtle beach area be sure to stay in the middle and preferably HIGH tide. One area above Grand Dunes there are some rocks coming in from the sides.

I was thinking that since we will be running a blistering 15 mph I would put a PVC pipe in the front thats as low as the drives so if it hits we have 66 feet to shut it down before we mess anything important up. 4 Guys going 2 are boaters 2 not so I need to make it fool prof.

I did it in a 45 SeaRay. Fun, easy trip. . . . IF you closely follow the markers!
