I have a stupid question. Has anyone taken a cuddy and converted it into a mcob? What would it cost? Is it just a stupid idea or worth looking into?

It has been done. I remember reading bout a guy that did this to big Apache and made the front part removable so he could place it on the open bow part and make it look like a cuddy.

I would think it would be easier and cheaper to just sell the boat and buy a mcob. Unless you're just wanting a project to keep you busy.

Got a sawzall and a 12 pack of beer? Then your ready to go!

Be careful, some manufacturers pull if off very well (Sunsation comes to mind) however some don't (Velocity, Profile). If a manufacturer can blow it so can you.... Someone did a 47 Fountain, a 41 Apache and both were marginal at best.

Send it back to the factory and have it done. I think they might need to add some support or ?? because the deck kept the boat from flexing to much.. but thats just me.. good luck
