Shouldn't be any duties on the US side. You will most likely have to pay taxes when you register...

Make sure all your paperwork is in order before you head to the border.

okay here is another question, do i have to take the boat across a border, meaning if there was a place that the trucking company could drop off the boat, on the canadian side
and i would just drive it home,, legally of course, i would want to contact customs, but alot of truckers will not cross borders
with boats because of the hedaches involved, rather i would have it taken to a ship yard or marina on the canadian side
and drive it home from there... would they allow that

I sold a boat to a guy in Canada last year and he hired a trucking company to pick it up in Oklahoma and deliver it to him in Canada.
It was not a problem going accross the border but the trucking company had done this several times both ways and knew what paper work needed to be in place before the boat got to customs.

Use a well known boat hauler that's in the business. For a small fee a customs broker will handle all the necessary paper work and the hauler will clear the border seamlessly. As stated, no duties. State tax will be due at some point probably where you register it.
Good luck,
Bob
