The first and only one, was built with V12 Faulkner engines and Bravo's. Lee called and wanted to do a Yanmar diesel/Arneson in the boat but the customer wanted something exotic. Engine problems led to a change to something else exotic (Ilmor V10's) and Bmax's.

They have a potential customer in MEx that wants to do this boat with Arnesons and 800 hp motors.

I have driven the 43 in the ocean....very solid ride...it IS not however a 90mph boat as posted earlier...I was in the eighties however. I have also driven the 32. Pretty solid as well. The pictures of the engine compartment don't show the space in front of the engines...You almost need a ladder to climb down there:) once in there there is alot of room to work on things.

That makes more sence on the speeds..... The boat just looks damn big.. actually larger than my 43 Nor-tech, which is about as large as they get.. with the exception of the 46 B.T. Looks, ya.. I agree aren't that appealing.. possibly a good paint scheme would lend to the lines better. I think facing back bolsters would be a nice touch as well. Also a 4 bolster set up in the rear or a separated looking bench. Sun-pad with graphics that is carried to the deck of the boat to tie it all together.

How are they priced and which other large boats have you driven in the ocean and what do you compare them to. Thanks Jeff

I drove a 42 outerlimits in the same water...I would say the outerlimits...no real comparision though...the outerlimits outweighed it by a couple of thousand pounds.

Those pictures are a little misleading as they aren't taken from above. The engines are actually below the seats and it opens up quite a bit under there. The boat is actually designed to house TRIPLES! The middle engine being staggered further forward, to give you an idea of how much room there is. Something else, those Ilmores are actually placed 12 inches off the transom in this boat. You can walk around, the engines in the 43 pictured.

The bull nose does several things for you. The most obvious thing is it opens up a lot more cabin room on the inside. From a "functional" perspective of boating though, it displaces a lot more water, which means you are far less likely to "stuff" the boat, and it makes for a dry ride even in ridiculous seas.

As far as the interior, it's a Schiada. They are one of the only "true" custom boat builders still around, they will build you whatever you want. It's only limited by the imagination and how much you want to spend. ;)

I will get some more pics up this weekend (have to get them off my external hard drive), from when it had the Falconers in it, as well as now. I have a bunch of pics from the LA Boatshows. I'm not sure on the headroom, but I'm 6' and I wasn't ducking while I was in the cabin. LOL As someone else said, my 1st apartment was smaller then the inside of this boat. My 1st apartment didn't have real granite counter tops either. LOL ;)

The falconers only had about 15 hrs on them before there was engine troubles, and they switched to the Ilmores. The boat ran (if memory serves) 87mph with the V-12's with literally ZERO dial in as far as props etc.

With true 800's the boat will run legit mid 90's. ;) I promise ya.

It runs 80's with the Illmores.

Just so everyone is clear here, I don't nor have I ever worked for Schiada. (Not speaking for them) Just a customer/enthusiast (I have a 21, 12, and a 10 / working on getting a 20 and a 24)

I just called Lee and had him take some pics of the engine bay of the boat. The engine bay is 106 inches wide x 96 inches long.

I think the pics will show that there's no issue in terms of room in the engine bay. (Sorry for the crappy quality of pics, all he had was his cell phone on him)

These motors are pushed forward 12 inches off the transom and are V-10's so they are a bit longer then a V8. V8 triples will fit easily and still have enough room to wrench on them.

Here are the only shots that I have next to other boats. The head room is 7' 1 inch in the V-berth, it is 92 inches wide and 7' 2 inches long. The V-berth head room is 3.5'.

The boat measures out at 43.5'.

Too bad those Falconer's were a bust, they are cool looking. What kind of problems did they have?

River Dave, I was just giving MHO. I have climbed over a few Schiadas and I know how well they are made. Actually probably the best factory construction and rigging I have ever seen.

It's also very deep.. and the way she sits high in the stern would definitely handle 3 480 Cummins or Yanmars with some Asd-7's. Cabin looks very nice as well. Looks... It's getting better. Any shots from stern looking at sunpad..straight on.... I noticed it was recessed. Thanks again for the pics, a nice surprise from the west coast:grinser010::cool:
