Does anybody run K&N oil filters in their Mecruiser engines. I was looking for the right part # for the hp 500 efi. Thanks all

Go for the Napa Racing filter which is made by Wix Racing. I believe it is better than the K& N and cheaper. Do a search on Oil Filters in the Tech Forum, and you will find two great posts in the last two weeks, including the Oil Filter Study.

We ran K&N #3002 filters on our Factory 2 boat with no problems, also had Mobil do oil analysis-checked out fine. We used 15-50 Mobil 1. Clay

Do you know the correct NAPA Racing/WIX part number?

NW_Jim 04-04-2002 04:10 PM

I just called NAPA and the part number is #1061R. Not all NAPA's seem to have this info.
