My friends spectre ran 112 mph. with 500 efis. and every trick in the book.
The 32 spectre ran 135mph with 575s.
150 more hp and 21 mph in a larger boat.
Is the 32 that much faster than the 30?

Knowing Rolf's rep, theres no telling the tricks he did.Heard he knows set up.

I remember he was the one putting a speedmaster spline props shaft in a bravo to run Speedmaster props on a 388 Hustler:drink:

I am a huge 32' Spectre fan. Love that boat.

But does that video make Statement! the NEW Cat killer? :-o

the 32 has a very efficient bottom.

us1kw 08-22-2009 10:38 PM

Statement has 2010hp and costs $895k. If we built a Spectre to that spec's what do you think??

Powerplay25 08-22-2009 11:28 PM

Great video. The Spectra rocked.

Velocity Tom 08-22-2009 11:54 PM

So the 32 is much faster than a 30 with the same power?
Thats great!

suicideblonde 08-23-2009 07:22 PM

I heard Jay was building Cats again - anyone know if this is true?

us1kw 08-23-2009 07:50 PM

Spectre will be releasing information soon as to the models of cats it will produce. 1 model aimed @ the Dubaii O/B circuit for sure and a couple others....

What does that mean for the peeps in the US who are interested in buying a new spectre? Is there going to be a new design? What about specs, electronics etc....

tblrklakemo 08-23-2009 08:05 PM

One thing is for sure.....that spectre was full throttle the whole f'in time. Runnin hard to keep close to that bad yellow skater.

us1kw 08-23-2009 08:09 PM

The new designs will reflect the innovations of the Spectre 32, introduced 5 years ago. Seems as if the other cat manufacturers took that long to figure out the advantages to the windscreen vs F-16 canopy configuration...etc...You will see more innovations that will undoubtably be ahead of the curve again.

And the CatKiller Fountain cost how much? :party-smiley-004:

It was just a joke about how Fountain would have made that video look as a marketing tool.

I really like the Spectre. Sorry if you thought I was bashing it.

seltzer 08-23-2009 08:16 PM

Bang for buck, Spectre is hard to beat. But I do have a biased opinion.

us1kw 08-23-2009 08:32 PM

The yellow Skater is a nice boat....however the Spectre was running 575"s and I would bet the Skater was running 1200's or so and cost how much?? In the time to come (or now) the market will be readjusting itself from the over the top stuff back to the reasonable affordable boats that made the Spectre such a wise choice for so long....see past Powerboat and Hot Boat tests. And look forward to some new ones!

My 30 with 500 efi's ran 112.8 at our local radar run last year and the only trick i used was to fill both the cooler and the gas tanks.
Oh year, bungie cord the throttles.
I would love to have a 32 and the prices are moving in the right direction.

us1kw 08-24-2009 10:30 AM

especially if they are built in Florida again.....

How do these 32s handle a 2ft to 3ft chop at speed?

TexomaPowerboater 08-24-2009 11:53 AM

Very Nice, I'm impressed.

Gladhe8er 08-24-2009 12:09 PM

134 MPH with 575's is very impressive. Are they definitely completely stock? Only reason I ask is my friend has a 32 Skater with the same motors and it runs low 120's.

mine has 500 efis and so far tops out at 118. The boat takes a nice set at 90 plus and seems to cruise effortless at 100 in the chop.

bobkatz 08-24-2009 07:49 PM

What does a 36 Spectre with 575's run, i was told that a friend of mines old boat ran 128? And it did it more than once...

us1kw 08-24-2009 09:58 PM

575's are very tempramental with temperature. Cold water and cool air will add 15+ mph to warmer climate speeds.

32 500 EFI S 118

TuckerDog2 09-16-2009 08:14 AM

My 36 ft Spectre Poker Run will hit 104 everyday regardless of temp. It loves the chop, and rides the rough stuff great. The best part is it will idle for hours without missing a beat, and gets great fuel mileage compared to the "big" power boats!

wananewboat 09-16-2009 08:56 AM

I couldn't find a website for the cats only the cc's.

The cat site is no longer up. I suppose Scott may have lost interest.
I will be introducing several different models to be available by next season.
