I'd check out a 33 Powerplay if you can.
My 28 handles St Clair (even this terrible summer) pretty well, so I'd imagine the 33 would be perfect, if you could find one.
Are you concerned with cockpit space? Which is bigger between the AT and Scarab?
I personally prefer the AT but that's mostly a looks issue.

I would like to have decent cockpit space for sure, and I would like a decent cabin. I am moving from a 25' boat technically, so the cabin with a true 32/33 is going to be much larger. I would like a little more head clearance, as I just found out the Scarab doesn't have quite what I thought it did.
Does anyone know head clearance for a 32 AT?
As for cockpit size, I would take a good stab in the wind saying the AT probably has the larger cockpit, I was rafted up with a guys at the moot in a 25' Active Thunder, and my 272 (25 foot boat really) didn't even compare in size, his was much larger, deeper, and seemed to have more cockpit and cabin space than mine did.

My 28 AT has a bigger cockpit than a 33 PP, although the 33 PP is an awesome boat.
My 28 AT is basically a 32 AT with 4 feet cut off(they put a dam in the mold). Headroom is probbaly 4 1/2 feet in the cabin. A 32 might be a few inches taller.

im looking at the same boats and i can tell you if you are looking for headroom, the a/t has a little more than the scarab. if you want a lot of headroom sonic or donzi has the most ive seen. scarab, a/t, hustler, newer ss sunsation have decent headroom.

I looked at Scarab 33AVS and the 32AT and ended up with the AT. Never looked back. One 33AVS I rode on ran 85 with carb 500 HP and 90 with 500 HP and the motors shifted forward with a driveline setup. (Correct me if I am wrong on the driveline setup maybe it was drive height??? I can't remember.) I also rode on one of the 33AVS boats that had the Volvo DPS 600s and duoprop that ran 90 with 6 people and full of fuel. Never got in rough water with any of them.
However, I have run in rough water in my 32AT and it is a wave crusher for sure. Love the ride and the confidence it gives. Hung right in there with many boats much bigger in some tough offshore conditions without any complaints from my wife which is saying a LOT.

OOPs, correction. There were 3 Scarabs I rode on. One with 500 HP 85 mph. One with some kind of mods that ran 90 with 500 HP and the third is the Volvo motor boat.
