Who's running a #6 in a single engine application

I am going to have my 540 with Whipple 5.0L upgraded over the winter, I am looking @ upgrading my Max Machine Worxs drive and going with a #6 drive. Is there anyone running this in a single engine cat, pros, cons, what should I expect, will I benifit by going this rout, will it be worth the upgrade, just waying my options, I thought about going with the IMCO SCX but I just don't think it would hold up...any input would be greatly appreciated:drink:

Masher had a single #6 on Slim Shady with just under 1000hp running through it. Maybe he will chime in and give you his input.

You may want to do some research on the new "indy" and the conrad.

The conrad is pretty much bullet proof. I read alot about the new Indy.. That will hold some big power as well and not rob alot of HP to use!! I heard $ for $ the indy and the conrad are much cheaper then the #6 for the complete set up.. Also the # 6 is not bullet proof either just a lot more reliable for big power and heavier hulls Did you consider and Arneson or a surface drive? Rik at Arneson can really hook you up too. #6 uses a lot of HP to run!!

Good luck and post what you do

I talked to the guy that had a 26 Daytona with a #6 and 1200HP. He said it porposed like crazy. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Looked into the Arneson, but its not a simple swap, I would have to add on to the center pod, and it looks like it would be a pain to deal with, don't get me wrong I like my MMW but would love a little more peace of mind, with a better drive, looked @ Konrad, but not a bolt on replacemnt, not sure of the Indy, it i a beautiful drive, the Xpower drive won't work, the drive needs some tweeking to run on a single cat, already had a friend try one gave it back, it wouldn;t work on his cat...at all..:eek:

"commander112" went from Bravo blues to a Number V drive (5, not a 6); on his Commander cat. (1300HP or something close to it)

It took a lot of dialing in and work. He had to move the engine forward & redo the transom, and a bunch of other stuff. When it was all done; he sold it for a stock powered 28AT.

Keep it stock (or mild) and go boating on the weekend;
or make it radical and go wrenching on the weekend.

what kinda of pwr are you running?
I think the SCX is rated for 900/900 or close to it.
