Air conditioning for small power boats

dallasboats.com - I'm not sure if you are talking to me or not, but I bought a remanufactured one for $650 plus another $100 for a longer hose/pump. I think they go for around $1000 new. I really does cool the cabin well in my Sonic. It has 6000 BTU's and those Crusair hatch units are only 5000 BTU's. (And this is much easier to setup than the hatch units)

I bought one of those portable suitcase models for $849 a few years ago. Chilled my cabin during 95 degree days to un-Godly temps, so cold I had to turn it off at times to let the cabin warm up a tad. It's literally built into a Samsonsite suitcase, complete with wheels. You attach the pump and hose, plug it in and presto, A/C just like home. My boat is a 34' Scarab with a pretty good sized cabin.
I see they're more expensive right now, but you might want to shop around. Here's what it looks like http://www.boatus-store.com/browse/item.asp?IID=30493
It's called the Aqua Cal Krusin Kool Portable Air Conditioner, and I've had it for about 3 or 4 years now. There is a version you can buy without the suitcase to allow for a custom installation according to the website. I don't mean for this to sound like an advertisement, just wanted to share my experience. It's worked very well for me.
