I have seen Fountains chinewalk a little in flat calm conditions...minimal tab will eliminate with almost no speed loss

Mike,
MN? You must be driving Jerry Bergs boat and I have run that boat at 108 without chime. Set tabs at 3, drives about 4.5, should not chime walk at all at 100. Over 100 you will need to burp the wheel. Team Shogren www.teamshogren.com

I road in a 35 foot Fountain over the weekend with staggered 600's. I was impressed to say the least when the speedo touched the 100 MPH mark. However, I was also surprised as to the "chine walking" that was occurring. Can this "chine walk" be controlled with steering corrections (like an Allison or Hydrostream)? Trim tab settings?
Just curious. Thanks. Mike |

Team Shogren www.teamshogren.com Yes, it was Jerry Bergs boat. I wasn't driving, just riding. Beautiful boat. One of my favorites on the Whitefish Chain. Mike |
My 32 will walk a bit around 75 if the tabs are not set right, props turn in.
US1 told me he turns his props out and changed completely, no walk only lost 1 m.p.h. |

Same Fountain staggered less power 525's no chine walk @ 103
MPH:boat: |
Never herd of Burbing of the wheel, can someone tell me what that is?
|
I've had mine chine walk up to 100 and then the next time like it's on rails. I think it has to do with trim and water conditons, also driver error.
|
Burping the wheel........hold the wheel in your arms and gently pat it on the back....drrrrr everyone knows that.

What is the fastest anyone has ran a 35?
