I agree about too much hype as well as backfiring.
I was really excited to have an opportunity to buy an AT when I was shopping 38' boats. I too heard how great they were on OSO.
The boat I was looking at ended up being DockmanRich's boat. I sea trialed the boat in some snotty water - the winds were 20 to 25 knots that day.. In "MY" opinion (and the opinions of other OSO/HRPA members), it did not live up to what I had read on OSO. Plus there were some other issues that made me uncomfortable.
From what I read on OSO; I was expecting impeccable build quality and a smooth solid ride in the rough.

I am in no way bashing AT. I think AT makes a beautiful boat and I too would be proud if I owned one.

I like to equate it to when I used to go out to the bars all the time when I was younger and there were always those loud mouth dudes saying how bad azz they are and always want to start chit. But when the chit did finally hit the fan they were not the ones to worry about. It was always the dudes just hanging back not saying anything...they would just have that sly grin on their face and would then proceed to clean house. If something is really all that great, it will get eveyone's attention on its own. All the "look at me, look at me!" stuff can put a sour taste in your mouth about anything no matter how sweet it really is.

I think that apache is going to sink the min you put it in the water. So to save your self the head ache you need to sell it to me.

Don't jenks the boat man........ especially in this wheather. I think my transport time just went from 3-4 days to 4-6 thanks to mother nature.

Next time one pops up just remember that there is PLENTY OF TIME to check it over once you put down a deposit. I'm still kind of bewildered as to how I got there first.

Bosco = As far as the dig about composite manufacturing, Powerplay has been out in the forefront. All the boats are vaccum bagged core of an inch in thickness. They use pure vinylester resin, and the most advanced Knytex nit laminants. All boats spend 2 weeks while being molded. 160 man hours go into bonding the components together as one piece prior to rigging.

I'm no expert in fiberglass boat constrution, so my question is, what does all this really mean in comparison to other boats?

I know all of us AT guys like to toot our own horn and maybe a little too much sometimes.

But you Cigarette guys can be pretty proud at times also.

PowerPlays are better than Apaches, OuterLimits, Cigarette's and Nor-Techs.
