Anyone go out boating today in the Great Lakes? How crazy was it?
I'm looking out my window and also the data bouys. Winds of 30-45 knots and waves 3-15 ft high...
Anyone feel dangerous and go out lately? How was it? |
If I was on the westside of the state I would go out. I am sure my boat would break in half, but hey, as everyone always says, Life Jacket and Lanyard must help!!!
But in all seriousness I would go out in this weather if someone asked. Would have to be the right skipper on the right vessel. I would man my Baja Solo for some fun, again like I said, it would probably break in half, I am not saying this boat is anywhere near great. But with a few years of Cold water survival. I would at least be ready for a mishap (or at least I hope it would go that smoothly). Current water temps are still around 60 degrees, so you got a few hours! |
I thought about it, but HUGE waves breaking over the walls and shore...so decided it was not so smart. Water is still plenty warm...but it would be just plain stupid.

I doubt anyone on the west side COULD have gone out. When the waves start rolling like that, it's tough even to navigate out through the pier heads!
