Question Thinking about a Formula 311 or 336?? You own a 336?

I am thinking about getting in to the Performance boat world and need some help. I had a Formula 302 in 1984 for a couple years and I am now debating whether to get a 311 or early model 336?

I read the 336 is slightly heavier with a couple inches on width and height. I like the 336 features like molded in swim plat form but have been told by a couple guys that Formula put a hook in the hull starting with the 336's but in turn they rode bow heavy? Is this true? Has anyone had both or heard about the bow heavy ride?

It is had to find a good 311 without the TRS for a good price, and I have been told to ABSOLUTELY stay away from TRS's? Any info?

They put rocker in the 311's and also I beleive the 336. They like LOTS of trim. I run mine almost off the indicators. Most don't trim them up enough so they will seem like the bow is stuck down.

I love TRS drives and think that the 311's/336's ride better with them. I have a 311 with 420's and TRS drives. The Bravo boats are easier to work on the front of the motors.

Would you consider a 303?

I would have to agree. RAMBUNTIOUS on the board has a 336 w 525's that runs real good!! He also uses alot of trim.

My 311 likes trim as well. My engines are further forward than a TRS boat as my trannys are longer but the ride is VERY balanced. Keep in mind a 336 is the same length as a 311.Nothing wrong with a TRS boat!!!! If the price is good and it has been maintained well it serve you well for years to come. If you put alittle steam to a 311 they will run!!
