St. Cloud disapointment..
What happend yesterday?
There were hardly any boats in the race.
We actually got bored and left.
Saturday we went down to the Mercury plant to look at the boats and there was maybe six of them there. Drove over to the launch ramp only to find only a few more.
Where were the big name teams?
The factory teams?
Formula? The wife was really looking forward to seeing them.
Sunday we launched early (0900) and staked our claim to a good viewing spot only to have two boats anchor between us and spectator bouys spoiling (blocking) our view. Very rude!
Not to mention the two idiots that anchored next to us.
These two boats were trying to raft together, it took the one boat four tries to pull along side of the other. A real circus. Then they decided to fire up their grill. After loading it up with charcoal they proceed to pour gasoline on it.
It lights with a WHUMP! and a WHOOSH!!.
That's it, we got the hell out.
When we got back to the ramp it was about 3 o'clock. There were around 8 others waiting so we turned around and went back out to anchor and wait a while. About 30 min later we tried it again and it was worse. Back out we go. Came back later and still no joy. Out we go again.
Now it's been about an hour and a half since we first tried to pull out.
We finally got our chance at the ramp. I pull up to the dock only to have some jerk, with what looked like his first boat, try to back it down the ramp into us. He never checked to see if it was clear. He stopped just short of hitting us, after I yelled, and jumps out of his car looking surprised. Says he didn't see me. Idiot! Then it doesn't start! Now he's blocking part of the ramp.
I back off to wait again.
Our turn finally came, we pull it out with no drama, and got the hell out of dodge.
At least the boat ran well for the first outing of the season.
If it hadden't been so rough and windy it would've been nice.

I hear ya loud and clear, Iggy! There some interesting sights(people). Just goes to show ya, there's idiots everywhere!
I would have paid to see that guy with the grill get a quick and dirty buzz-cut! LOL
