Testing lakes Ind,Mich ????????
Looking for a testing Lake with 1 - 2 footers and some room to wind her up to finish dialing in the SKATER ,Lake Michigan has been 4 ft - 16 footers the last 2 weeks and is'nt co-operating at all. Lake shelbyville is 2.5 hours and usually flat as bath water .Kentucky Lake is awesome and 6 hours away so if were gunna do that kinda drive may as well keep on going and hit the St Johns river :bigbird:there has to be something around local within a few hours .
thnx in advance:drink: |
My vote is for the St.johns. I live a mile away from it just south of Jacksonville in Orange Park. I would love to watch that beast run. It's still in the high 80's to low 90's here.

Come on down to lake shelbyville if you catch a windy day it is not that flat. Its only 2.5 hours.
Right now I'm in Sullivan and it is raining I could check and see if there is some wind for the weekend. You would probably get some good numbers with the cooler temperatures and probably be the only one on the lake (it is bow season so all the fisherman are hunting). Forecast for tomorrow (Saturday) is 60 sunny with 5 to 10 mph winds out of the south which would give you a couple good spots to run with the wind at your back. Come on down I'll meet you at aunt b's for breakfast. |
Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin 25 miles long by 10 miles wide about 3 hours away

Sullivan is 61951 you wont have to worry about stumps after this rain maybe just floating logs probably be gone by monday. That place your talking about is in Tuscola. If you need help navigating around the stumps I can definatly help. Monday there would not be a person in sight on that lake.

We looking at 1 to 3 footers right now. Bring it down (with crew), dial it in, and take in some rays and rum. Maybe a few lobsters. You might just stay a while.:evilb:

How bout Monroe Lake outside Bloomington, IN? I know the Stancombes test their Skater there, as needed. Google Maps, says its 4.5 Hrs South of ya. I would meet you there, shoot some pixs & video of your testing, as I'm planning on being up there Monday, anyways. :)
Have a good weekend. James |
Brian,
Muskegon Lake Might work it gets some nice chop and if the Big lake lays down a bit you could shoot out to the big water in just minutes This would be less than 3 hours from you I am happy to come out and crew chief for the testing |

There will be a lot of crap in the water at lithia springs they are right by the dam. about as downstream as it gets. the best place to check is findlay marina. If you come down my dad has a small shop in Sullivan and he builds engines so if there is something you need let me know.

Lake Winnebago is one of the finest lakes for testing in the midwest. JBS Racing uses it for testing our boats. I live on on the lake in the Oshkosh area and have many contacts at marinas and hotels that would make your visit real comfortable. Weather is cool, but the conditions on the lake are perfect, no traffic, no speed limit, normally early calm conditions and afternoon waves get larger.

I would agree with that remember there are some reefs on the lake, I cant tell you where but do check with the locals. The best thing about winne is the average depth is only twice that of your bathtub. dont wait too long the alge bloom sucks in the summer!

I actually live in New Lenox, IL. I tow up to White Lake, MI all the time which is just north of Muskegon. I've been on both White Lake and Muskegon and chop on both these lakes is common, with the wind off of Lake Michigan. Then if you do hit a nice day you can run on the Big Lake. You can make White Lake in less than 3.5 hours and Muskegon just over 3. White Lake also has one of the nicest ramps I've ever been to, with a nice big lot that never closes and it lit up!
