Finally got out for a ride!
5 Attachment(s)
Finally had a chance to get out on the water since we picked up our 1988 22 Donzi Classic TR back in August. Below are a few pics and clips of our first and last ride of the 2009 season before Jay starts his custom work on it. ..Kristin

Very nice 22' in red TRS drives?Gas peddle or throttles?
|
Thanks.. :)
Original B1 drive, no foot throttle, It is a conventional throttle.. :) Jamie / Lakeside |
Great looking boat, love those 22s. What does it have for power now and what are your plans for it?
Roger |
Thanks.. It has the stock original 454 330hp in it.. I am undecided as to what power it will have long term.. :) Jamie / Lakeside
|
I am torn between finessing the existing engine a bit & keeping it with the boat, or looking into a new engine all together in the range of 425-500 ish Hp. The engine will be one of the last things I do with it. :) Jamie / Lakeside

Looks real good, that is great!

Kristen you need larger glasses just to be safe. :D
The classic Donzi's are IMO one of the best hulls out there, they never get old. I will keep mine tell I die! |

Peace, Rob Currently the boat is bone stock. It was a low to mid 60's boat originally, but slices thru the rough like a hot knife thru butter.. My target speed at some point will be to get another 10+ mph out of her which will be pretty easy for me to do.. I am unsure as to if I want to puch this one over the 80 or 90mph mark, but that has been done too on these hulls. I will probably do some interior work at some point, although the current original one is in like new condition. I just am not that fond of the gray currently. I will probably also do some updates to the dash & gauges, but keep an old school look. Beyond that I am going to update the old original bravo to a new heavier one along with external latham steering.. Along the way I will be doing sprucing as needed to the rest of the boat..
