How to identify an OSO member
Anyone out there with a creative mind think they can come up with a design for a decal to put on our boats so we can identify each other? When I am at the dockside bar/restaurant, or the dreaded fuel dock, I always watch boats coming in and out and wonder if they are a member. Maybe something small to put on the transom or windscreen, etc. The one in the store may not match well with many grfix, not my first choice to put on the boat. Any thoughts?

Good idea. Need that here too.

hmmmm was thinking about this yesterday....so far nothing...thought maybe if all OSO members had topless women on board... but figured that migh tbe a stretch.. wait do the words topless and strectch belong anywhere near eachother..

Huh. I wonder what that pretty gold star means?

I think a small "glass etch" type of sticker would be kind of nice. They go with any colors and would work on any dark or glass surface. Maybe a small black one for the guys with fairings.

What exactly does the gold star mean?

There's a maritime signaling flag code used to represent letters. http://www.envmed.rochester.edu/wwwrlp/flags/flags.htm
I believe Boat US and some other places have them as stickers, relatively small you could put on starboard or port side windshield area, kind of like where a driver would paint his name on a race boat. Only OSO members or real mariners would know what it means though. OSO in maritime flag is the three symbols below: |
gold star = original or charter member
