Low 100's I think. 300 mile radius and only costs 130k....Plus you can fold it up and put it in a box trailer for storage! And it appears all you need is a drivers lic. and a Physical to fly it! This company has really revolutionized the ease of flying...Especially off the water!

That is cool..I already have 40hours flight time. i was in ground school in 2001. i dropped it all together after 9/11

I'll wait for my Cirrus Jet, thanks.

It's a neat concept, but I don't think it is much beyond just that - a concept. From what I've heard they have a very long way to go to get Type Certification...if they ever get it.

Until I started working in aviation industry I didn't have an appreciation the vast difference between a flying experimental aircraft and one that has its Type Certification. Another huge hurdle Production Certificate.

Once the Icon has its TC, I'll be impressed. Until then...well, it's not a real aircraft and is onlly a VC adventure.

Just my $0.02. :drink:

Good call. I visited them earlier this year and was impressed with the maturity of the design. Cirrus is a great company with lots of experience and history. They most certainly will get TC and PC on that jet.

Plus, it's just a nice plane. I like the sliding middle seat in the back. Last year at NBAA they grabbed 7 of guys who were all over 6' tall and I was amazed how well we fit! I don't know if that's a realistic flight load, but it sure was an impressive sight at the show!

Plus it has as standard a plane parachute.

No offense, but you sound a litte arrogant with that comment. Coming from the layman who knows little about airplanes, why would I care if its only designated as an experamental plane compared to one that has it's type cert? And for that matter, I'd rather it be in the class that it's in so that:
A) it's cheaper
B) it doesn't take a pilots lic. to fly

I think with it's standing the way it is, it'll hit its targeted market quite well. Aimed at being more of a toy (self proclaimed "jet ski of the sky").
