St Cloud- Accident Update
 

First- thanks for all the help and prayers everyone provided.

Second- I am alive- no broken bones- just bruised up a lot.

F1-07- did you get the tag of that truck that hit me? Thanks for stopping and lending a hand.

The boat went straight up in the air- got air under the boat- I (Al- throttleman) was thrown up out of my seat and landed on Andy - driver, knocked him out and he went under the steering wheel, and then I rolled off the back of the boat (at about 80 mph). My helmet broke, the jacket came unzipped, but it was still on.

Guess I was wrong...I assumed when you mentioned tag from truck this happened on the road.

Wow, that sounds...ummm...scary! Glad to hear no major injuries. Anything happen to the boat? Did this happen early in the first race? We thought we saw a major splash from the other side of the coarse, but didn't know what happened!

Yes- we were on the first lap on the first race- second start. I guess a lot of other boats was experiencing the same **** on the corner.

I hope you guys and the boat are feeling better soon. Glad nothing SERIOUS happened.

Helmet broke? Jacket came unzipped? Sounds like a serious whack.

Just for future reference, what kind of helmet/jacket do you have?

It was a Bell Helmet and Lifeline Jacket- I think it did its job the best it could have in the circumstances at hand....

Glad to here you are both ok.Nobody said it was going to be easy but it sounds like you found the limit on your trim switch.Rest up so you can race in Daytona.See you there and say hello to Andy.

Hey Typhoon- why wasn't you there- I thought we were having the dog pound- I will see you in Daytona... The wind did not help at all- but we all know that turn is the worse one on that course.

My friend was taking pictures at St Cloud. He's going thru them - says he has over 100 shots. He just sent some to me, including these that you may be interested in: (He didn't have any running shots, just the pit area close ups)

Sorry -- He says he was just too far away to get any pictures of the boats on the course -- nothing worth saving.

I'll post some more of his pit area/crowd shots when he sends me them. He may have more of Offshore Addiction prior to the race.

Offshore, sorry to hear about your incident. No shots of the race, but may have some of your rig and boat prior to the run. We were at the hotel with soloraized when you stopped by on Sat.

Was in the pits and didn't see it but heard it was a pretty hard hit.

Sorry that you had problems too....but better to get all the gremlins of the way right at the start of the season, right?

Just wanted to add: I just learned a long lost racing friend of ours has joined Offshore Racing -- Alvin Heathman -- I heard he will be racing Super Cat Light with a guy named "Slug"? but that's all I know. Anyone know what boat, brand or number?

If anyone knows how to get a hold of him or sees him, please tell him the "Mirage Family" says hi!
