Which one of these engines would you build?

I was wondering if you had the choice which engine you would build. I was thinking a 327 with a small blower, a 383 stroker or a 427 stroker all small blocks.

TxHawk 10-30-2009 07:52 AM

What am I building it for? What do I want it to do?

twistedvelocity 10-30-2009 09:18 AM

Going fast lol

PatriYacht 10-30-2009 09:18 AM

383 stroker with a small blower.:cool-smiley-011:

Catmando 10-30-2009 10:15 AM

Weismann Marine is building a 435ci sbc at 650hp no blower.

You can get 460 out of the LS7!

That is cool, how many hours do you have on them now?

How much cylinder wall do you have left?? Who built your motors?

mountainmadness 10-30-2009 03:54 PM

I would opt for the most CI Naturally aspirated. I built and run a 428 sbc. Alot more motor then my old 550hp 383 chevy

mikes280 10-30-2009 06:00 PM

to start with what size boat and how much does it weight. That would have a lot to do with what size motor i would build. Oh and what kind of drive

fastdonzi 10-30-2009 09:26 PM

327's are wussy's in a boat, not enough stroke or torque to overcome the drag, Build the Biggest N/A and go from there...

twistedvelocity 10-30-2009 10:05 PM

I was just thinking the 327 cause it would rev like crazy.
the boat is 23.6 feet and 2948lb and I should have my bravo drive next week
They can also stroke the sbc to 454s now

Are you using the LSX block?

Its a boat not a Indy car plus bravos dont like over 6000 on the input shaft.. Boats like torque!!
383 with a blower best of both worlds..

Or this route if your pockets are deep enough, but the bravos wont like the 6800

twistedvelocity 10-30-2009 11:10 PM

the idea of a blower under the hatch is sweet I think.
I actually have a 454 mag coming with the bravo but I kind of would like to stay with a small block

Speaking of .....a max cubic inch injected LSX set up would be killer.

Eddie can you get an aluminum LSX yet?

UD

Young Performance 10-30-2009 11:42 PM

I'm not sure. Haven't tried yet. :lolhit:
I would love to build a big inch small block based on the LSX. They are some wicked little blocks capable of handling over2500 hp and, I think, over 500 ci. The all LS class of drag racing has some guys making oer 3000 hp with some gorilla turbos. Not real good for a boat, but it sure is cool.

How cool would a 500+ ci LSX series small block with a 5.0L Whipple be?
Eddie
