happy b day. austin is sweet. if i could find a job there, i'd be there in a heart beat. lake travis has some entertainment value. john jan is the austin social director. there is always something fun to do. great place to boat and ride street or dirt bikes.

Clay...you'll love Austin especially coming from North Texas. Less worries here about winter freezing and plenty of Lake to enjoy on Lake Travis as well as LBJ, marble Falls and Canyon all pretty nearby too.

Check out the Lake Travis Powerboat Association at www.ltpa.net they run 4 ro 5 poker runs a year and might be a pretty good place to start for meeting others in the area. Otherwise there's always party cove if you wanna jump right into the fun.

Check out Johnny Fins (used to be Sam Hill) or Carlos n' Charlies for live bands every weekend. CnC is already open, Johnny fins should be by the next month.

Most of all bring some warm weather with ya' man...this 50* stuff has got to stop!!!

Austin is awesome...I get out there about once every month and a half (I work for an un named major computer corporation located there )

Isn't Travis pretty strict on noise now? Unfortunately, I don't get to boat on Travis but I do have friends that do. They love it!

Congrats Clay. My son's in-laws live above Travis and the views are terrific. Personally, I think the lakes are too crowded on "big" weekends, but you'll have fun. The biggest problem is finding a dealer as good as Jim Burns.

Dredgeking,

Boat ran great! Was runnin mid to upper 70's! Haven't even labbed the prop yet! I'm still a couple a hundred RPM out of range for optimizing the full range of the Whipple!

That speed waswith a full tank of gas also. I want to lab the prop and run it with about 1/4 tank of gas and see if I can squeeze some more out of it. The next trick is to have an extension box put on it.

Thanks for asking!

I have some pictures posted in the scarab section.

Happy Birthday !

Hope you have a great day.

Very sorry about having to move to Austin though. Maybe things will get better. I saw in a movie once that there were only two things in Texas, Queers & Steers. Move to North Carolina!!!

LOL - Just joking Texas guys. Have a good one
