I wouldn't pay more than 30k for the boat, if I put the Ilmor indy package in the transom would have to be filled and recut anyway so a stag setup would be done.
Can't the Ilmor stuff be had for about 60k each?

That stuff being over 1000#'s less and not as much of a HP loss (trans & drive) as Merc. stuff I would think it should do 80 mph.

who knows but a 2004 46' with triple 575's runs 92-93mph, a Merc 850sci run 97-98mph and a 1075 runs 114mph.

I would agree, but at what cost. keep in mind, it is an older 46 ft boat, even staggered with the ilmores, that big thing takes torque to move, the parasitic loss in planing would be tremendous. the spiderman RR has 850's and I think it is right about 90

Anybody hear what they want for it latley ? If the Ilmor's are around 60k for engine/drive and you could get the boat for 30k you should be able to be on the water for under 200k. On paper the 725 Ilmor is better than the Merc 700 nxt but thats on paper and I have 0 time around them.

Thumbs up

saving a 1000lbs and a stagger I'd say 87 if 850s are 97 and 1075s are 110 to 114. could be 90 if the motors and drive set up are 1000lbs lighter. 120,000 I would hope for a set. or I am sure KONRAD OR ARNESON DRIVE PACKAGE bought from DEAN GELLNER with his 750 or 800 hp efi or carb motors would be in the 100,000 range and have him dial it in for you. you would at 90mph anywayon the low side with out a blower or mabe for another 10 gs get whipples more speed 216 398 8500 is DEANS SHOP PHONE, MY PACKAGE IS A HIT MAN 1050HP with konrad ace, thats going in a SABER 28. SHOOTING FOR 100. but its worth talking to the guy his motors are in a race boat in P100 thats the 115mph class they got two 2nd places in the 1st two races . ART ps your not sure how the new drive will run, anfd the ARNESON AND KONRAD ARE PROVEN DRIVES!!!

From thier website's the Ilmore is 1236#s wet, Merc doesn't say wet or dry 850 is 1720#s and the 700 nxt is 1548#s. The Ilmor is going to be bad a$$ when they get it to about 900 hp if it's still that light.
