Rooster Tail
Is there a way to throw a nice rooster tail without staggered engine setup. I have a 35 Fountain non staggered set up but can't get rooster even with aggressive drive settings ??????? Is there something that needs added to the drives.... Speed

somewhere in the Cig section there was a guy that had some kinda diverter that attached to the cavitation plate, threw up a spray but not a big tail. The only way to get it is high X dimensions and stagger. Over trimming a drive to achieve a tail could do some damage.

i dont think it has much to do with stagger, more about depth props running at, prop style and pitch, amount of water props are pushing-more hp=more prop=more water in motion. surface drives throw bigger roost cause the blade is above the water on part of its revolution and throws water off the blade into the air. the real experts can step in here anytime

You dont need a stag. set up for a rooster tail, you need surface drives. You could raise the X dim of you drives or put two inch shortys on but then you risk messing up the way the boat drives just for that look and it's still not going to put out a big tail.. My boat had tripps and #5 drives and would put about a 50 foot high 120 foot long tail out but that is the way it was set up not just for looks. I recomend buying a boat with surface drives if that is what you want.

I think it depends on the drives and props more than if you have staggered or not.
I have a 38' with side by side SSM#6's, and I throw a 200 ft rooster tail WIHTOUT aggressive trim.

I added a bunch of cup to a set of 32 Bravo's trying to achieve better cruise speeds. It worked but it also created a "tail" effect. Threw about a 6 ft tall tail but was hard to determine how far back if went (depends on speed I guess). Looked pretty cool but I found a set of Maximus that gave me even better cruise speeds so I use them instead.
BTW: Those 32P props are for sale
