Yea, it's Erics boat....Eliminator may be closed for the holidays. I know they would like to sell that boat. It's a beauty! eric took care of that boat like no other!

"Shueman" on Performance boats forums works for Eliminator. Go over there and PM him. He'll give you the 411.

Do you want to buy it? Be aware that the engines and drives are gone and that it was last rigged with Merc 6s.

There aren't many 39' Vs that take rough water like the Dragon and they are built very strong.

I'm under the impression Eliminator re-rigged it. Says teague 900's and 6's with 40 hrs. Eric had bigger power in it than that when he had it.

Man, I remember when Eric really made that a NICE machine. It's always been such a shame that he had to do so on his own dime, AFTER he paid for, and was promised, a top notch machine from the beginning.

As it sits, I'd call it more of a Hermit Crab, instead of the aggressive, physically superior boat, that Eric built.

I think Teague rigged the boat with that package. I thought Eric had those motors and drives pulled and put them in his new boat.

They may be the original motors. Eric did put 6's and larger Teague motors in the new 36 speedster. I want to say 1400Teagues in the Eliminator. I know Eliminator was originally selling the boat with out power for mid 100s. Now its mid 3's with the power and 6's.

All the gremlins were worked out from what Eric had told me. And this was over many cocktails and sushi so he quite liberal explaining things:drink:

I don't think it has to do with the holidays, I have called the last 3 weeks, and left messages, no answer and no return calls.

Maybe Bob is giving his people a month or two off here in the slow season and the holidays...

MegaByte*3 11-27-2009 12:37 PM

If you're looking to buy a Dragon, there is another one in the classifieds.

I know it doesn't have engines or drives, does anyone know if gimbals are there?

The ad says Teague 900's #6 drives with 40 hours on package.

Like I said, I know they were thinking of selling it with out power but that would be a hard sell. I think they decided to keep the power in it and sell it...thus the 350 asking price

900s and 6s is a strong package. I would have saved 500lbs on the transom with Weismanns but that's just me.

$350k sounds a bit high for a 5 year old boat but I know the rigging from Teague is strong. With good haggling it might go for 300...

Hee's the original rig job for those that questioned the quality

This was with the original 525 bravo setup. The bottom on this boat (#3) was different than #1 & #2, it was not notched. The notched transom boats ran better.

Dragon may be available in South Florida

I got a call earlier this week regarding a new Dragon, unrigged may be coming available in South Florida. I'll check on the details on Monday.

obnoxus 11-27-2009 07:48 PM

Thats funny,,,,,, I was rereading some old POWERBOAT mags and was reading about Eriks boat last night then I see this thread.

It said the boat was completely stripped and rerigged.

The only thing original were the steering helms !!!!!

Teague 900EFI"s in it now,,,,, well as of the redo anyway.

Cant believe he'd sell it after going through all that

aug 06 is the issue in case anyone is curious

Lauderdaleboats 11-27-2009 08:08 PM

I read the same article a few years back. I was a bit shocked about the total rerig considering I was meticulous when rigging this boat. If you look at the pics in the magazine article you will see that the battery switches and breaker panel are still in the same location and that's from memory of three years ago. So I guess not only the helm stayed. But then, I guess Teaque probably never thought that there were pics knocking around from the orinal rig. Boat #2, the white dragon with the notched transom ran 98-99MPH with the same 525 bravo setup. The blue one was not as fast. The other difference was the strake locations. The strakes on a dragon are added after the boat is built, not in the mold and were moved around quite a bit. The first boats all had different strake locations I also rigged the staggered race dragon for Gino. I believe if the bottom of the race boat had the same strake locations as the #2 boat it would have been alot more competitive.

So in your opinion which boat ran the best. Were you ever in hull 1 and I guess this answers some of the strakes falling off questions!

Eric traded it into Eliminator for a brand new 36 Speedster with large motors (believe 1400s) and #6's. I believe Eric wanted more speed (like most of us) and wanted to try a cat and liked Eliminator. His new boat is supposed to run high 170's.

He loooooooved that Dragon and had great things to say about it (after fixing the gremlins). Just moved to something different.

Here's his new boat at the L.A. boat show in 08 (not rigged yet).

Wow that's sick gel!!! Nobody does gel better than Eliminator. Does it have the Coupe top? Wonder why he didn't put another wheel to port...

Wow, That Eliminator is unbelievable. Great to see a boat that color, and with those graphics.

Well the Ilmor725/Indy setup is about half the price of a 1200/#6 setup. I would say it's a 130mph boat now.

The pics of the speedster with the ilmors is a different boat. I just talked to Eric. His Boat still isn't rigged and will still have large power and 6's. Should be done by the end of march.

Your right, the photo is of a 28 with the Ilmor / Indy package. My bad, got confused reading the other forum.

I can not believe the 36 is not done yet. It was at the LA 2009 boat show fully rigged except power, what has taken 9+ months to finish the boat.

I guess they're not in a big hurry
