Default Round Ireland Offshore Powerboat Race 2010

The Round Ireland Event is taking shape nicely and is set to run from the 5th to the 12th of June 2010.

The race will start and finish in Galway and is set to be the highlight of the International Powerboat Racing scene in 2010.

This is a week long festival of everything powerboats and will include the Round Ireland Race for all you big boys out there, the European P750 Championships, a boat show, and a great week long festival in Galway.

It is being organised by the Team from Lets Do It Galway who organised this years Volvo Ocean Race stopover in Galway this summer. The Galway leg of the Volvo race was the most successful of all the stop overs this summer with over 650,000 people attending.

Lets do it Galway are expecting an equally succesful event in association with The Round Ireland Offshore Powerboat Racing Club with over 350,000 expected to attend during this holiday period.

The Harbour in Galway is now famous for it's amphitheater environment which is ideally suited to a display of power of this magnitude. The surrounding harbour will host the Festival and the Boat Show, with near by Salthill playing host to the P750 Championship mid-week.

The website is now being updated regularly and we have added a forum, the Marathon Rules and the entry fees for those interested in taking part.

Entry Fees will be a deposit (non-refundable) of €500 followed by a simple fee structure of €4.50 per horsepower. This is payable in 2 stages, the first by the 31/01/10 and the final payment by the 31/03/10.

The forum is up and running and hopefully we can encourage you all to contribute in whatever way you feel is necessary.

See www.roundireland.org

Come to Ireland, bring the family, enjoy the activities and surrounds of Galway and challenge the Atlantic shores at speed.

Regards,

Macrib.
