prop types

Can someone explain to me the types of props and the differences, (cleaver, reg. 3blade, 4 blade, cup, rake.) Why don't you see cleaver props on CC fishing boats? Go fast is new to me, I have a outboard powered offshore fishing boat background and have always used the props the dealer told me to. Thank you.

Thank you Rookie, that helped a helluva lot more than . I did pretty much know the basic stuff on that site, just wanted confirmation. what I didn't see, and would like to know is what is the advantage of the cleaver prop and why don't you see them used in applications such as, say, a 25' CC fishing boat w/twin 250 outboards. Thank you.

Because cleavers don't work well on most boats. They give no bow lift and don't bite well at slower speeds.

Cleavers work very well on tunnel boats that have bow lift from packing air. They tend to give stern lift which will not work at all on your CC.
