Type of material to use in cabins?
I want to re upholster my v-berth cushions in the cabin, just wondering what you guys recommend for a fabric. Want it to be durable, but comfortable enough to sleep on.

I recently made new cushions for mine with a fabric similar to sun-brella. Its supposed to be mildew resistant, and its soft but durable. I picked it up at Jo-Ann fabrics locally.

Look at Great Lakes Skipper. can also google kendor marine. They have NOS material pretty cheap I think from Baja.

Take them to a car upholstery shop, make them put seams at al the corners so it doesn't roll/pull on the foam..I would use a marine vinyl ,it has mildew proof stuff in it, it stays soft, search here or do a goggle on it.

I dont want to use vinyl... The bench seats are vinyl, but its fabric on the "bed" in the v-berth. Thats what I want to recover.

Check out this material at my local boat surplus store. It's super soft and looks really good in person.

I have Ultra Leather in the cabin, love it. It's very sofy and gives the cabin a very high end feel. Any good upholstery shop can get it.

I have a friend in upholstery and I was told the ultra suede will not hold up for along time.

I would just make a cover for the current V Berth pad. Maybe use a feather bed topper and have it cut down to fit with elastic sides that go under the current pad.
